Eli Ilan, Sculptor. b. 1928, Winnipeg, Canada. Immigrated 1948. Studies: 1946 University of British Columbia, Vancouver, pre-medical studies; 1955 Hebrew University, Jerusalem, pre-historic archaeology and physical anthropology; 1956 Ontario College of Art, Toronto, Canada, sculpture under Thomas Bowie; 1959 Training College, Ottawa, criminal identification techniques. Member of Kibbutz Sasa. 1959-63 Served in Israel Police. Sculptures: 1972 "The Victim", Clare Park, Tel Aviv; 1973 opposite Municipality, Tel Aviv. Died 1982, Caesarea.

Ilana Zimhony was born in Haifa. She graduated from Haifa University with a masters degree in fine art and literature. She studied with Sima Slonim, Avraham Nesati and Yehezkel Streichman at the Avni Institute, and with Moshe Sterensus at Haifa University. She has been professionally active since 1962. One man show: She also took part in many group exhibitions. Her work is on display every summer at her studio in the Safed Artists' Colony. She draws inspiration from the Israeli landscape and from Jewish culture and tradition, such as the Bible, the Kaballahh, the stories of Agnon, etc. Ilana Zimhony isa member of the Israeli Painters and Sculptors Association and of the Safed Artists' Colony.

Iris KOVALIO EITAN studied literature at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, composition at the Rubin Academy of Music, and then at the University of Pennsylvania School of Fine Arts (MFA). She has won several awards and fellowships from the Guttman Center Residence, The University of Pennsylvania, the Bnei Brith, and a tuition grant from the Rubin Academy. In 1994 she has a one person show at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem and participated in group exhibitions at the Dafna Naor Gallery, Jeruasalem (1995); Philip Mill Gallery, New Hope Pennsylvania (1990); Guttman Center New Hope Pennsylvania (1989-90); Univer sity of Pennsylvania (1988-89-90). Between 199-94 she taught painting at the Art Teachers' College, Ramat Hasharon, and since 1994 she teaches book illustration at the Ramat Hasharon Library. She lives and works in Herzelia.

Irith BLOCH Born in Mulhouse (France), 1938, studied at the Fine Art Academy in Antwerp (Belgium) . Lives in Israel since 1962. Teaches painting in professional art schools and colleges. Itamar Newman, born 1954 in Israel, is completely self-taught and never studied within any kind of formal framework. During his army service, he was the chief set designer for the Nahal's entertainment troupe (army band). He designed cover of records. He is a filmmaker, consultant and artistic director of films, for the film "Tel Aviv Stories" , he won an Israeli Oscar for artistic direction. In addition to producing dozens of advertising films, including the design, script, and even the music, he has designed and built sets for theater and television. Newman also has illustrated many books. In the Eighties, he reconstructed the Pilz Coffee House in Tel Aviv, a project which earned considerable praise and revealed his talents for design and reconstruction. Afterwards he was commissioned to reconstruct Montefiore's coach, which is on display at Mishkanot Sha'ananim in Jerusalem. He worked as an etchings engraver in London and designed puppets for the Moppet Show in New York. In the field of music he has collaborated with many artists. He has composed original music for a record of his own which he is now working on.

izzika G A O N Born in Sarajevo 1938. Moved to Israel in 1948. Lived and worked in Jerusalem where he graduated from the Bezalel Academy, design department. 1963-65: received a grant from Canada and a government scholarship to the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Took part in collective exhibitions in Italy, Germany and France and later in avarte-garde exhibitions in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, New York, Toronto and Los Angeles. 1972-73: traveled to the United States and Mexico with an American grant. 1973-83: directed the Design Department at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem where he curated more than fifty exhibitions of architecture, industrial and graphic design. 1983-88: served as Chief Curator of the arts at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem and played an integral role in the redesigning and restructuring of the museum.1988-1997: Senior Curator of the Design and Architecture Department at the Israel Museum. Lecturer at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. He has created glass and silver collections for Cleto Munari Design Associati (Venice), Tollman's (Tel Aviv), S.S. Rogaska Slatina (Slovenia), Brandimarte SRL (Florence), and porcelain collections for Mangani SRL (Florence).
