Hoffstatter, Osias. b. 1905, Poland. 1938 Emigrated to Belgium, then escaped to Switzerland and began drawing. 1948 Returned to Warsaw as art editor of a weekly paper. Immigrated to Israel 1959. Studies: 1942-46 Art Schools in Zurich and Vienna. Teaching: Art in Poland. Prizes: 1976 Dizengoff Prize; 1991 Bank Discount Prize for an Israeli Artist. Died 1994.

Hava Weiss - Painter Born in Czechoslovakia in 1929. As a little girl she went trough the horrors of the Second World War in Auschwitz. After the war she moved to Sweden where she started to learn drawing. In 1947 she made her aliya to Israel; she was one of the founders of Frud kibbutz in Galilee. She studied and perfected herself with the help of the painter and sculpture Viola Benidish.
