Gershon Rennert was born in Mannheim, Germany, in 1929. This city purchased for its institutions one of the artist's works in 1963. In 1933, with Hitler's rise to power, Rennert, at the age of four, escaped together with his family to France, and from there, in 1935, to Israel. Here he received his education, from kindergarten to the completion of his studies. Up till January 1997 he has presented 59 individual exhibitions, and participated in over 200 group exhibitions both in Israel and abroad. Forms part of Dorit Kedar's doktorate "Zen Buddhism as means to increase creativity", to be consulted in The Natinal Library of Congress, New York, N.Y.

Gabi Klasmer In the mid 1970s Gabi Klasmer and his friend Sharon Keren organized provocative art events, some challenging the definitions of art, others protesting political realities (staging a festive meal outside the Knesset, next to right-wing hunger strikers). In 1979 Klasmer began painting in superlac on paper, moving on to large-scale oils, and most recently, murals and sculpture. His paintings have a theatrical, dramatic air - flaming sunsets, large, strange buildings that seem to be made of cardboard, calligraphic scrawls, all strongly sensuous and colorful.
